A 17-member multi-national team, ten supporters and two umpires will realise their dream of touring one of the great cricketing nations while playing eight matches in four cities in India during January and February this year.

The eight-nation CBB team will play local teams in Kolkotta, Delhi, Udaipur and Mumbai in a tour organised by Mr Zubin Bharucha of The World Cricket Academy (tel: +91 98 11 79 30 79).

Highlights include playing against the Maharana of Mewar’s XI in Udaipur and at the Bombay Gymkhana Club, where the first Test Match in India was played in1933.

Led by tour captain Bart Singh from Toronto Canada, the CBB squad also comprises players from the United States of America, the United Kingdom, China, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia and India.

The CBB was formed as a touring cricket club in Penang in 2000 by seven like-minded, cricket enthusiast friends who play at the Chang Mai International Cricket Sixes tournament each year.

With headquarters in Chiang Mai, Thailand, the CBB now boasts 67 members from many nations, including Saurav Chatterjee, Captain of Cricket of the Calcutta Cricket & Football Club, who is playing with the CBB on this tour of India.

The CBB play in the Asian Cricket Sixes Tour’s annual Hong Kong Cricket Sixes and Phuket International Cricket Sixes tournaments, as well as cricket sixes competitions in Chang Mai, Singapore, Macau, Philippines and Newcastle.

CBB Founding Member and Chairman of the Asian Cricket Sixes Tour Mr Michael Maher said, “Everyone is very excited about the tour and looking forward to playing cricket with prestigious teams at impressive grounds.” Mr Maher can be contacted on cat@cricketsixes.com or tel. +61 40 738 5481.

Many international cricketers have played with the CBB including Trevor Chappell, who is a member of the CBB cricket club, Courtney Browne, Colin Miller, Adam Hollioake, Terry Alderman, Heath Streak and Tom Hogan.

In 2006 a CBB team played eight matches in North America and Canada, and in 2002 a CBB team played in the Sarasota Cricket Sixes in Florida.
